could you imagine the **** show? Cancell all the regional feed they do and it would cripple the others overnight. I'm not sure why it hasnt been done already

Also, all 4 partners (AAL, DL, UA, AS) have clauses in their contracts with SkyWest to block the potential for a sale via heavy financial penalties.
But no, nothing about selling. That's why regionals can, and do, buy each other with some regularity. They just continue the feed as directed in the contract. |

It's simpler than that and has nothing to do with blocking a potential sale. SkyWest has signed a contract to do X work, and if they fail to perform such work, they have to pay Y penalties. SWA could, in theory, buy SKW and continue to operate the feed and not face any penalties.

exactly, then when the contracts come do, don't continue them. No way the others could fill the void nor the mainline cover the amount of flying the regional does. 50% of delta's flyingnis regional.

Thanks for the snarky ad hominem to a genuine question.
Again, I’m a DL guy. I’ve flown MD-88, Boeing, and Airbus at DL, all of which had autoland that we use and maintain currency for (both jet and crew). In fact, our Cat II/III must use autoland. My last recurrent, I used autoland in a smoke/fire scenario on the (foggy) goggles. It works quite well. If you have been around the airline industry as long as you claim, then the only snark was in your original question about something so obvious as Southwest's cheapness. . |
