Yeah sure they do. I have sent requests to join committees on several occasions and never even heard a thanks but no thanks. Radio silence. If they are so hard up you would think they could at least send a single response.

I'm a pretty big proponent of SWAPA but I do have to agree on that one. Committee's here are an island all to themselves sometimes. Some committees like SRC, 401K, EF&A require some kind of SME or at least a background in it, but at least respond.

It's all of them. The only way to break in, MAYBE, is to run for a BOD position and then making your way into some committee after your term(s).

No not all of them. Being chair? Maybe, but not even all of them for that. Be engaged. Get your name out there, be on the other forums, go to pickets, offer to help and introduce yourself to prior already on committees. I agree that it's not necessarily easy to get on committees, but nor will it ever be with 11-12k pilots. If all you're doing is putting in an email when swapa sends out an email asking for volunteers, you're probably not going to get selected.
