If checking girt bars is one of your pilot duties, you’re always gonna be wrong if you sword fight with another work group.

That would be nice if true. I know with the FAs , ramp and gate, They will all collude , your story will not match what the other 3-7 others say happened. Do not forget this place hates pilots, you are wrong from the start for just for being a pilot.

I would not be surprised if they blame the pilots for the reason everyone cannot work from home and now need to return to HQ.

If it's going to be that kind of argument then I bring the FO along.
but I understand what you're saying. I've been through it with an ops agent

The golden rule until it comes to pilots , then the gloves are off against them . Nothing better than a clean kill on a pilot .

Mark the time and the Freq, submit an ASAP, and let the Feds look at it. Remain cool and professional.

This behavior definitely exists in a subset of ground employees, but I think pilots put themselves in it more than they prevent it due to poor communication skills and a lack of empathy.
Just like with the controller, you are never going to be right in an argument with anybody who makes less money than you. You will always come out of it looking like the a-hole. Get witness names, write down the facts, and be as cool as a cucumber. Obviously stand your ground if it's an issue that requires it, but don't get spun up, raise your voice, or become combative.
I have never had a single problem that I couldn't resolve with an ops agent. Some are definitely better than others, though.

Same guy at DAL on tower yesterday in the rain. Ramp, taxiways, etc. all slippery. Expedite this, min time that, keep it rolling, good speed around the corner, whatever you've ever heard from a controller trying to push planes around fast, he was spouting it off. In the rain.

Not ok.

I ignore them and go at my own pace. I don’t answer to ATC. I answer to the puzzle palace across the airport. If he has a problem with that….too bad.

Hopefully this is generating ASAPs and calls to our ATC guy. I have slipped on the wet rubber deposits making that 90 deg turn off 13L and it isn't a comfortable feeling. I take it very slow now.
