I'll echo what e6b said... no reason to get into a pi$$ing contest with ATC and getting famous. The ATC version of "expedite" and mine may match, but may not... we are responsible for the safety and operation of our aircraft. If that doesn't align with ATC's vision and especially if some controller loses their cool over it, it's a simple explanation using the words such as UNABLE or "will do our best" followed by ASAP if you feel it's appropriate. No reason for johnson measuring that would invariably end up on YouTube or Facebook.

The default to "expedite" should almost always be "unable". Saying anything beyond "unable" ought to involve a bit of thoughtful crew coordination. "Standby" works if you need a little time to figure out if it's safe to expedite. If you can't properly crew coordinate compliance with an expedite request then that should tell you right away that the correct reply is "unable".

^ this right here. There's a huge difference in exit left at Whiskey 6 contact ground versus full-on taxi clearances while the CA is monitoring deceleration and calling out 60 knots, I'm trying to stow the reversers, and the CA is taking control of the aircraft. There is a lot of intricate things going on there and trying to pay attention to left at November 2, left on Charlie, cross Runway XX and hold short of Gulf is not one of the things I care about. Next time that happens, I am going to ignore them until we have safely exitied the runway.

exactly. We dont say or start our after landing flow till clearing the runway. Anything said to me while on the runway gets ignored.
