Southwest Airlines names Doug Brooks as board

the Chinese made Comac 919 is a 737/320 replacement jet on market today. Highly doubt we make a deal with the CCP for airframes due to tariffs and other reasons but there’s alternatives on market today. Being a DEN guy I’ve heard for awhile that the -7 had the range to do HNL (not sure that route would compete well against UAL’s 757/767/777 lineup) but it might work for EU or going further south/north.
Just hoping they don’t do more displacements…my schedule sucks about as bad as it can get without doing a forced commute. Hoping for good news…at some point soon.

IMO.

All depends on the seating configuration. We took Air France 777 CDG-ORD and the seats had ample pitch and leaned waaaay back, allowing you to actually rest comfortably, even in a middle. I took an AA 777 a while back LHR-ORD and it was not the same experience. In any case, everyone gets up and takes stretch breaks. We were able to get business seats on the way over to Europe last time we went which makes a huge difference on the way over because you can actually get a few hours of good rest.
Referencing the post above concerning the 737 to Hawaii from Denver, the 777 that UA flies on that route is configured for max density. Unless you have a premium seat, you are probably getting a worse seat than you get on a SWA 737. Ask anyone who has flown on it, it isn't comfortable at all.

I recently flew on a UAL 777 in whatever the economy upgrade was—it was quite comfortable compared to the Euro airlines coach.

As far as Economy seating goes, I think our Max seats with in-seat power are the best seats in the industry.

That being said, that thing fits almost 400 people and is a CASM monster.
