APC does the TFP/hours conversion so you can compare apples to apples. The poster's info was correct. Monthly guarantee is 84(85)/87/89 depending on the length of the month. That's what we have always gotten for pay in training. Your first month will be prorated.

Average new hire 30 years old, no growth, bit more captains than FOs: spend about 50% of your career as an FO, so upgrade in 15 years. Easy math with single type operator.

That math has always been a thing here and yet upgrade times have never been that long.

A friend is in the next class…she lives in Bakersfield CA and would love LAX, but is expecting MCO or BWI. How soon realistically will it take for her to get back to SOCAL?

a TFP is just another word for “hour” or “credit” don’t try to compare how many trips/credits/hours with other airlines. Just compare the monthly take home in dollars.

We get x amount of credits per month at x amount of pay.

FWIW, I avg 120 a month for the last couple of years pretty easily. And anything picked up from the company pays at 2nd year rate for you first year guys.

And just like that, we're back to 25 year upgrades and 18 years to hold plug ATL FO. /s

I’ll be surprised if ATL stay a base much longer.

There is a mystical algorithm that is used to compute the magical 'TFP' value for each flight.
Southwestern Trailways Lore tells that this algorithm was reportedly created by the pronoun people after a -somewhat isosceles- triangle (DAL-SAT-HOU-DAL) was drawn on the back of a napkin in a bar that smelled of many leather bound books and rich mahogany, and cigarette smoke cuz it was the 70's.
This mystical algorithm must not be debated, questioned, doubted or even studied lest ye lose your eye sight. All you need to know (and tell your buddies at OAL's) is that 243 NM is involved and " It's Just How We Do It ".
Ron Burgundy approved this algorithm, and ipso facto - so must you.
Accept all of this on blind faith, and you'll cruise through training.
Welcome! It is a good place with Great People to work with.
