Is this the same as it always has been were SW says we have 5000 applicants but it's the same who've applied to every other airlines?

Probably every regional pilot that wants to leave and pt135 plus military

Assuming competitive mins for this application window mirror legacies (4K TT / 1K TPIC), what % out of the estimated 5K applications do you see meeting this criteria? I have been flying with several FO's at my current carrier that said they applied, but do not have time anywhere near the above?

The number wouldn’t surprise me based on the current hiring environment. I assume every applicant applying in this timeframe would have apps in at all the majors.

and with the numbers being thrown around of how many the others are hiring it sure doesn't leave that many left.

There’s no way that info will be available publicly.

No assumptions can be made about what is competitive. They will interview the most qualified to least qualified until they fill all the open spots.

I’m in contact with an applicant that exceeds all the requirements, has 10K+ hours, military and federal job history, masters degree, CFI, etc. So there’s at least one!

I gather checkride failures will be looked at very closely this round.

I agree. Especially since WN apparently pulled some new hires out of class recently (allegedly—someone will have to confirm it).

Willing to peace out from the AA flow for a chance at SWA. Im alittle older at age 42. But considering at one point that age was quite normal to get a legacy job Im hopeful I will at least get a chance to interview.

Good luck to all the hopefuls. It only takes 1 opportunity to change your life!

Age not a factor. You'll fit right in...
