The SWAPA email stated crew planning is supposedly done dismantling Denver. I'll have to see it to believe it. They said a new from the source video will be posted in January. If the demolition derby is truly over and we can hire 800+ pilots this year, MAYBE all the displacements will be returned by the end of the year. Any new hires please take note, if you want Denver expect to wait 2+ years for it.

Completely crazy how fast things change. ATL MCO DEN and the changing of the guard from OAK to BWI. None of it resembles just a handful of years ago.

Emailed ‘em after the 2nd video hit showing more cuts in DEN. They said, “things change. Watch our next video to see what’ll happen in the future”.

I no longer believe anything MS has to say. Least with a massive bid there’ll be a lot of reshuffling system wide so any cuts in DEN or any other base will be minimized a bit with all the secondary vacancies. If they cut a bunch off the bottom in DEN, the plug could be a 12 yr CA/4 yr FO. Find out next month I guess….🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah, that stinks. MS videos and ‘On the Radar’ were the only emails worth receiving.

I get it…things are fluid in this industry. I just think it’s stupid to title a video with ATL drawdown and then hit another base with bigger cuts with no warning. And then keep the hits coming because you’re too incompetent to build RE trips that can be staffed by the bases where those flights originate.

c’est la vie….feast or famine. 🤞🏻 hiring and upgrades unwinds this mess. Displacements will be my “need to fix” on the next CBA.

That was all about the author's emotional attachment to ATL. He came from the AT side of the house. They gave them free voluntary moves and coddled them in comms, apologizing heavily, then proceeded to gut Denver Nanking style.

I hung on to DEN thinking the cuts were done and then got the Oct vacancy and left on my own accord. I wish I would have just pulled the plug earlier so I could have bid vaca in my new base.

If I had a paid move, I probably would have exercised it, but I am too senior to get displaced and DEN didn't get the voluntary option. It's a great base, especially if you like to play the game. Solid people and great chief pilots. SWA just soured on building it up with personnel. It's biting them in the ass right now anytime weather rolls through as they don't have as many crews in place there.

Such is life in the airline game, though. The only constant is change. As someone said above, if you told me 10 years ago that you could hold Orlando and BWI before OAK, I would have been like "sure, Jan."

I suspect we are going to have a lot of these new hires washing their resumes and going to UA, AA, and DL.
Especially if they want to live anywhere near the west coast. Can’t blame them.

If they can get hired here in today’s hiring…wouldn’t they have been hired there by now? Im not so sure that the washers will be in this next batch of new hires. Could be way wrong though.

A little curious insight into AUS. Looking at the current SWAPA individual projection, I’m showing 110 Captains senior to me (late 2015 hire) bidding AUS…
