I downgraded...best move I ever made. Swallowed the ego, and took the pay <RAISE>. Yep.

Poopoo out.

If that were a generally true predicament, upgrade time would be much lower than it is now. I don’t think it’s even debatable. Maybe works out for the unique circumstances of an individual.

True. But not necessarily unique, just some effort required.

Has the company indicated how big they expect AUS to be in the coming months after the initial 330ish?

Not yet. I suppose there will be some news on this soon. They communicated pretty well on the BNA opening.

Yeah I don't really see how it would ever work out as a pay raise unless you were really slacking as a CA and crushing it as a FO. I lanced for a while and that was a tie at best pay wise. Captain money is honestly stupid if you are budgeted for FO. I have relatively few expenses that aren't purely discretionary and even those are doable on FO pay. All that being said, the $/unit of effort at captain pay makes downgrading a tough pill to swallow unless you are being forced into the most heinous of Sully-esque commutes.

I’m pretty content with the work to pay ratio of my FO job. If upgrade improves it that much then I’m certainly looking forward to it!

Honestly it's a split between the money and the setting the tone that makes it all worth it. I would still be a lance today if that was a thing, but fully upgrading was the best raise and on line QOL boost that I have had.

FO money can be close to junior captain money…but sick pay paid at captain wages is better! I’d rather be out on LTD at left seat rates.

That's the truth. Upgrading and not being subjected to every captain's batsh!t conspiracy theories, and endless rants about how horrible every place is except the town he lives in, has been an incredible breath of fresh air.
