They could easily staff redeyes from west coast bases and stop displacements…they must choose not to.

And they wonder why FO’s are applying elsewhere and sick call usage is up…

Truth. If you park at C23 and swap to one at C67, you're walking 2/3 of a mile. If they plan that one for a 35-minute turn, they're in for a disappointment.

The scheduled swaps are usually not the problem. Most of the time they are 1hr plus but it’s the unscheduled swaps(usually mx), especially later in the day that are completely unacceptable. Of course it’s always in large stations with multiple concourses. A lot of times if you look at ops suite you can see mx being the reason. The worst are the thru flights.

Right on. When you’re successful and making money, you expand, just like UA does out of Den. Truth is we got blown out of the water because we are not competing with an inferior product and a sub standard international network. Even Swapa could not come with an explanation into why DEN base was reduced to this point. The excuse of red eyes on the east coast does not justify that level of manpower shift.

I just remember the brief when I went for selection aiming for 1000 airplanes. Ua had the same target they accomplished it we did not. Poor leadership and management led us to this situation. Stagnation affects most of us in career earnings and QOL.

I hope better news will come this winter. AW was suggesting it. BJ was speaking about LHR and CDG. A few 787, Austin base and a good intl expansion would be great. As you said a few more inches of legroom will not turn us around, let’s hope for the best.

I completely agree. It does upset the pax tho. Not the crews fault at all.
I was riding in the back and the crew was doing the best hey could then the ops agent gets on and starts in on the pax about being late etc and a pax yells out its not our fault we're late when you board after departure time.
