you think the upgrades/NH will be online in time to hit their metrics?
it takes 6 weeks for an upgrade and 10-12 for a NH minimum.
I dint have the chart in front of me.

Yes. 390 planned NH starts by the end of march. That puts the last of them into the June vacancy

Also I would like to remind everyone yet again that opening a new base helps nobody but pilots that live in hill country. The rest of us get to suffer. Glad for the people the benefit, you folks deserve it, but it's tough to celebrate too much when they are staffing the base by creating more displacements.

I misspoke. 390 FOs starting class in the 1 quarter alone. Much better situation to avoid FO displacement for AUS. CPT side, you’re right. It won’t line up perfectly with enough guys finishing upgrade but I think it could work out well with volunteers to fill that gap.

Yes. Lots left unsaid. Plus by leaving those slots in DAL and HOU, they are going to end up getting a bunch of new pilots there since the main draw for AUS will be those two domiciles. That will create secondary vacancies which will then create more and so on. The only thing that blows is that, at least for bases showing zero or less on the bid, displaced pilots won't get in but Captain winter ski house will. I would expect a ton of movement, especially in Dallas and Houston. The rest is going to be highly dependent on where they stash bodies. It amazes me how the schedule and contract have gotten us green bars in just about every base in just about every month and yet they hand out VDT like it's free during the slightest disruption. It's like we are overmanned for normal flying and undermanned for peak. Weird times.

I think it is going to take into the later part of 2027 for these displacements to unwind. Denver at least will take years with potentially over 130+ fo's and soon to be 80+ captains it is a mess staffing wise. Any new hires are good we'll take it but we need to fix displacement language next cycle.
