actually yes. It doesn't happen much but it can literally be anything. Adjusting seat, radios, just not mentally ready.
it doesn't happen hardly at all but it has happened. Like practicing V1 cuts
I think for me it the mental cue we are all on the same page, sharing the mental model etc.
I also point to the altitude, gear, and flaps. Just my thing if someone doesn't like it im not changing for their pleasure. That would through me out of wack.
Thats why i said weird. As in weird anyone would care.
ive seen weird things peolle do from my perspective, 5 green, cool and blue, whatever other mental cues one has and all I think is " this is this guy's thing" never give it any neverminds afters that.

Yeah same—had an FO drop a water bottle and another saw a flock of birds last second. It’s just a courtesy that we are synched up. I guess we should just assume we are all ready? Too much LOL.

I actually want to respond with “uhmm, I have to use the bathroom”. Probably not the best time for a joke like that but it’s funny to think about! Or maybe, “I’m gonna get some pistachios and sparkling water first, do you want anything?” 😂

I’ve checked and I don’t see this anywhere in the AOM

I perfer this over half the actual callouts we have. They're a mess. Overly verbose (1000 feet airpseed XXX sink rate YYY vs 1000 stable), lack consistency (1000 feet vs 500), don't make sense (no "continue" option), or were used as a blunt hammer to "solve" an issue rather than add a simple checklist step (set t/o thrust vs a/T armed on the before t/o checklist).

If you did that to me please immediately request that we vacate the runway because I’ll be laughing for the next several minutes.

I guess everyone has their things, but maybe…..? It subconsciously is an issue for this person because of the f’in annoying controller that says “be ready” when you are cleared to lineup and wait and expect to be cleared for takeoff but there is an aircraft on 5 mile final and they are waiting for the runway to be clear in front of you…. FFS be ready, EABOD, what else are we gonna be.

I could not agree more. They're idiotic. I was linechecked last week, and the check airstud was even confused as to who is supposed to say what, when. Sooooo Southwest Airlines...
