Are you serious?
Must be a Southwest thing.... but you're obviously former regional. I've known about the FLUF nickname since I was a kid- it was coined by the original designers in the 1960s.
So yes, maybe you really don't know the effect WN had on the NG's awful cockpit.

Most guys who don't know what a FLUF is also have no clue what a BUFF is.

Sometime ago I had the pleasure of having the head of the 757 design team,[let go,after slow sales] onboard in SEA ,It was his first ride. On arrival ATL, his only comment was,"Do they always land like that?"I thought my FO was going to wet himself.....

You obviously don't fly them or you are lying just to start a flame war. Either way, not appreciated.

Don't get your panties in a wad!
The B-727-200 was a monster in its day as well. Do you really think that the 737 would still be around if not for the absolute single fleet dedication of SWA? It outgrew itself a long time ago and even the modernization of the NG models was neutered to appease SWA in FAA common type. I spent over 5K hours squeezed into that thing, don't miss it at all. But I do agree, if the $ are right, I would fly anything.

I love the 737-800, -700 and I'm sure I'll love the -900. Great jet, great glass, and I can live with the overhead. Solid jet and flies well. Small cockpit is a pain but it gets you real close and intimate with your buddy.
Definitely looking forward to flying the -900 soon.
