Default Could SWA be looking after AA/US ???

With AA/US just announced, could GK be looking at another carrier. Hawaii was in the sights but it seems movement in that direction has died down, could it be the Fl Integration slowed things down. Now that the Codeshare ( Network connectivity) is starting to roll out , those 717 are finding a home at DL. What is SWA's next move? SWA bought their way into ATL why no do it to HNL?

There are rumors that the DL/AS relationship has soured recently. If SWA could swoop in and merge with AS then that would be a HUGE blow against DL and even AA, while being a major bonus for SWA and growth in HNL and growing market share along the west coast.

HAL doesn't seem to fit SWA's single fleet mentality.

They had better bring a dumptruck full of money, because DAL won't go quietly into the night on THAT....

You looked at us when you bought AAI. We were too expensive then, supposedly. You should have pulled the trigger then. You'd be flying to Hawaii today. However, you wouldn't have been able to staple the AS pilot group like you did AAI. We weren't and aren't desperate to be acquired.

The problem is, with $1.6B in the bank, a smart arbitrager could figure out how to buy AS with AS's own money.

Either way, there would be fireworks in the board rooms.

Flyby1206 doesn't work for SWA. He is neutral in that scenario.

My impression is the SWA mngmt is too busy merging two airlines to be putting anything like that together.

But then again, I'm just a pilot.

I believe I read there's some 'poison pill' in the code share agreement between Delta and Alaska which would make it prohibitively expensive for a carrier other than Delta to acquire Alaska.

Anyone have info on that?
