A second big thumbs up for Centerline Interview Consulting! What a tremendous help they were through the entire process.

I thought it was pretty much impossible to wash out at the majors. No?

Sorry if this is posted somewhere - can't find any details other than the APC profile - what are the details on WNs 401k - I see a 9.3 percent match - is that a dollar for dollar or does WN just throw that in? Is it tiered by years of service or does the 9.3 start on day 1? Is the profit sharing significant?

It's a 9.3% match dollar for dollar that you are fully vested in from day 1. Every pilot gets the opportunity for the same contribution. Last year the profit sharing was almost the same percentage so the company's contribution toward retirement was around 18%. Of course you had to contribute 10% in order to get all of that.

Do you have to take your PS in your 401K or can you receive it in cash?

Just remember SWA, the industry standard has become a cool 15% or so of your pay being contributed just by the company into your 401K until you reach the $265K or so IRS income limit, then the 15% is paid straight to you.

If you are not ex-military think twice about spending money & time about trying to get on with SWA. I speak from experience.

Just a friendly financial warning, that is all.
