Default Delta 717 issues

Spoke with a friend at DL tech ops. The 717 will not make its first DL flight in September, maybe not even October. They tried to put in seats that where not certified for the 717. All transition work has stopped. They have not taken official delivery of any 717s or gotten it on their certificate. I say this substantially increases the chance of it being at SWA into 2015.

So they're possibly delayed a month, & that somehow translates into over 1 yr??

He means some 717s remaining at SWA through 2015.

I've heard they want to increase the rate of delivery of the 717s, though.

There is a seat engineering issue with a chance of a delay but Delta is still planning service starting Oct 7. A friend of mine who was scheduled to start OE in late September had all of his trips taken away. Who knows.

The original plan was Sept 19th. It still shows it online as a 717, but those trips have been pulled from the flight ops side. The first 717 trip is now the 26th.

SWA was never going to make 1/1/15.

$20 that ~25 717s are still flying at ATN on 1/1/15.

They were always supposed to be at SWA in 2015. 16 to Delta in 2013. 36 to Delta in 2014. 36 to Delta in 2015.

The ATN and DAL guys seemed to know that, but somehow the SWAPA guys didn't get the memo.
