"Southwest Airlines is beginning to run up against reliability, parts obsolescence and supply challenges with the attitude display indicator (ADI) on the 737 Classic fleet, says Kent Horton, Southwest’s director of engineering."

Put "Sweaty Betty" out to pasture . . . . please. She's old, she's tired, and now she gets confused, too.

Hopefully this is even more motivation to replace those tired old jets with leased NGs off the used market. However, I doubt the 78 -300s that were reskinned are going anywhere soon.

Question from a non SWA guy..

Do the SWA jets have full on Nav displays eg...
Magenta line stuff or is it still glass displays
of round dials?

I recall long ago in one your jump seats
It looked a bit different from what I had seen
in other 737's

The NGs have the standard EFIS display now. We got rid of the "picture of round dials" a few years ago.

All of the "classics" have steam gauges in them.

Primary Flight Display/ Navigational Display
