Default Does Southwest have another play?

Now that AirTran is officially gone and integration nearly complete the chatter continues. I've heard from a few friends that Southwest is going to make another play and that big changes are coming. Gary Kelly did say he would add 50 destinations with half of them launching in the next three years. Can WN pull this off alone or are they planning to do this through another merger/acquisition? Have we seen any route map integration?

Kelly says Southwest will add 50 new destinations, finish AirTran integration - Dallas Business Journal

I would love it to be all organic growth, but not betting we'll be that lucky. My money is on JB.

Someone's buying JB. I'm not saying it's SWA (although the route structure overlap is frighteningly well fitting.....NYC, SJU, BOS), but IMHO it'll be someone.

It's Alaska. It should have been Alaska when you bought Air Tran.

Organic growth please!!!! If there's a plan to buy anyone, I could only hope it's Hawaiian. Not counting on anything though.

Interesting play if it ends up being JetBlue. Buy AirTran, then divest all the B-717s to get to a single aircraft type, then buy an airline that doesn't fly any similar aircraft.

I love the original southwest culture , but I agree stay away, you guys bring no retirements . I already fly with 37 year old captains that have way too much career left.

Southwest is going to buy, or merge with, Copa.
