It's gonna be awesome!
Did I mention, that in addition to getting a 2.5 tfp per MONTH bonus (from the amendable date), that we might even be able to get PBS? (!) They call it something else, and hide it way in the back in an MOU, (probably to keep us from getting our hopes up, since the company has already been beaten to a pulp at the "negotiating" table), but it's in there!
Even though the company may balk, there's a very real possibility that we could score PBS! Just think about it! You put in what you want, and you GET it! When combined with the industry leading subsets, dream schedules for everyone!
Can I vote yes yet?

There's a long time between now and when we vote. Right now it's an ignorance pool of opinions.
Everyone's afraid of PBS because of one sentence that says we'll agree to talk about it. GMAFB. No way PBS will pass a vote here, let the company talk all they want. I'd rather have them talking to us about it than just making up something on their own and trying to force it on us.

And a measly .7% increase in 401k is a shotgun blast to the face.

I don't even think that would be possible. SWA runs such lean manning already (less than 12 per aircraft and 8% reserves). Common season to season fluctuations already create nearly impossible manning situations. Couple that with the amount of the schedule routinely dumped into open time and a 10% reduction would most likely be impossible even after removing most known absence conflicts. All that being said, I don't think the SWA pilots would ever be persuaded to consider pref bid short of it being imposed through bankruptcy or some type of force majeure. SWA pilots remain very content with the ability to easily turn a week of vacation into 3 weeks off.

PBS should be avoided at all costs, unless you want to be awarded more days of work per month for the same amount of pay.

PBS will make that completely impossible - ask anyone at Delta. They've got PBS as contractually in check as any major does, and they'll still work the other 3 weeks of the month in a month they have one week of vacation. Might be less for those senior in a wide-body category with high credit 7-12 day trips.

We already took the first step in the last contract with the ELITT (open time trading) restrictions and the Lance restristions. I am working an extra day or 2 per month to break even compared with the old contract. Our extra restrictive FAR 117 agreement has made it even worse. But premium was through the roof this summer, and we're getting a bonus, so be sure to vote yes!
