For those not getting a call and exceeding basic mins:
--have you updated your app recently? What about availability?
--did you make sure you applied at BOTH the SWA Careers page AND the Pilot Credentials page?
--do you have Chief Pilot, Manager, Check Airman, or similar on your resume?
--do you have some kind of volunteer/outreach experience?
--is your application correct?
--have you checked your email spam filter?
In order to score an interview, you first have to get passed the computer...

Not true. SWA has been stratifying their new hire ages for decades hence there's really no glut in retirements like there is at the legacies. I got hired a little over 17 years ago and the class ages were 26 on the low end and 52 at the high end.

I sometimes wonder if being young is still a detriment as the hiring folks may fear that I (and other younger pilots) will want to bolt if the Big 3 call. I don't know how to properly convey that on an application that I have ZERO desire to fly wideobodies or long haul haha. I want to drive the 1.8 miles it is to the airport and am perfectly happy flying a 737 for 36 more years. I guess going to the Open House event is the only way to get my face in there and let them see I'm serious!

Does anyone have the age of the current youngest pilot at Southwest? Interested to see where I would stand if I were hired sometime soon.
