Back on topic. My friend is an ER doctor clearing 400 a year. Working like crazy, has to live in Waco, not jealous but making $$$. I’m leaning on the NOT making doctor money here.

It did for me. Both my wife and I worked casual additional jobs and made more money for the same timeframe than I got on first year pay. First year I dropped almost everything green because It was far far better both financially and personally to not work at first year pay rate.

Opportunity cost of my most limited resource, my time.

Different story at second year and it will be completely different if the TA passes, but 2010 contract first year pay rates were not enough to get me off the couch (speaking figuratively). We made more money consignment selling random stuff around the house.

So what’s the ratio of people saying in different bases? Everyone is arguing, I’m just wondering what people are actually saying on line? From the people you talk to are they yes or no’s?

I can honestly say it is like 80% voting "yes" from what I hear on the line. The "no" voters have mainly been from senior FOs upgrading soon and do not like not being able to drop reserve days. Their prerogative, but taking a 72 hour reserve line and dropping to 60 hours every month at $127/hr isn't why I got into this career, to make $85k a year. The irony of guys getting so upset we make less than Legacy carriers, and then embracing the suck by dropping an already low hourly X guarantee, by even more.

But like I said, to each their own.

All ends in a week

So maybe you should have gone to med school and added $300K to your student loans, taken an extra 5 years before you can enter the workforce, and pay $100K/yr in insurance premiums.
