So the rumor is that US Part 121 Air Carriers are giving additional training, could be ground school, FTD, Sim, OE, beyond their approved training footprint, and not recording it in the students training records?

But Spirit complies with the FAR's?

Sounds like it's more a nature of the programs, and how records are kept and shared, than a violation of the FARs.

Typical jeopardy events in many initial programs are the written indoc exam, the written systems exam and the check ride, including the oral and practical. Failure of any of these obviously would be part of the pilots PRIA record. The failure would show and the following successful completion would be recorded, complete with dates. Let's say a practical was failed. The SIMs leading up to the check ride and the retraining are not necessarily shown. That has been the case in PRIA records I have reviewed from regional carriers.

My understanding is that the SIM prior to the check ride will show an unsat at Spirit if you are not recommended for your ride. Good times. Please correct if this is erroneous.

Maybe not being AQP has something to do with it.

Every part after “the rumor is...”

Is there any way to get a Spirit seniority list so I can find names of people I have flown with in the past at my current regional, to have as references?

You’re going to go through ~2000 pilots name by name hoping to recognize someone?

He should, after I got hired here I found there were at least 6 guys that would have tried to help if they had known I was trying to get in.

What airline do you currently fly for? Usually there’s a Facebook group of active and former pilots for networking.

Thanks a lot for that! I will try to find that.
I don't want to post the name on a forum but I was ATL based and now commuting to IAH. Went from a good PBS system back to line bidding. Not working out too well. Live 40 minutes from MCO.

What if you don’t Facebook? One of the moms in one of my kids classes set up a FB group and was organizing Park meetups and pool parties and we had no idea because we don’t FB. And even if we were on FB weren’t “friends” w one of the parents we wouldn’t have known. One of the dads was like how come you guys don’t come to the meetups? I was like what meetups.

Now you have to join FB to find old airline people at a company you want to get hired at?

WtF ever happened to having people’s phone numbers and communicating directly instead of some social network group BS.

Hell, you can’t even sell stuff now without being on the FB marketplace

I hate the internet.
