How does the future look for hiring, being able to hold FLL, and upgrade times in about two years. I know there is a lot of expansion going on now and am in the upgrade process at my current regional. And will probably have about 4500TT with 2500 of that being Part 121 TT with 1500 121 PIC based on some rough projections I came up with by the time I'd feel ready for moving on to bigger equipment. With the new pay rates and the FLL base that would allow me to drive to work, Spirit is one of my top choices. But I also don't want to get stuck with a base like ACY for too long or end up sitting right seat for 10 years when everyone else going to other airlines moves to the left seat almost right off probation in this environment. I would not mind making Spirit a career airline, is that the mentality of most pilots there, so people stick around, or do a lot of people leave for the big legacies wanting to do international flying and that kind of thing?

Are you saying that you'd want to get hired here in two years? If I'm reading that correctly, not even management knows the plan for what's going to be happening here in two years. Likely be some game changing events by then: merger, aircraft order...
Place your bets and roll the dice, that’s what this industry is. |
Hey Guys! I had a phone interview about 3 weeks ago, I thought the interview went well and the conversation ended with “you’ll hear from us very soon”. I haven’t received any invitation for an in person interview nor TBNT email. Anyone with a similar experience?

Not fighter time, but it is basically all mil time. I do have my CFII and ATP.
Ok... my understanding is they have they’re own internal ratio for mil guys but I believe it has to be turbine time... PM me if you’d like I can try and give you some more info...I wouldn’t count yourself out based on those numbers... they tend to worry mil guys are gonna bail for delta or SWA....you need to sell them that you really wanna be here |

Yes, you are right. And I know a lot can change in two years, I just wanted to see what people had to say, and just starting to think about the future a little since I'm in upgrade at my current regional and have a better idea of what I want and don't want for a place I'd try to make a career airline. Thanks for the info, hopefully the future goes well. |
