MCO "major annoucement"
#101
Apathy was indeed a major issue, which management picked up on and used to their advantage.
The Mediator being "sold" on the 40% raise, was clearly a great obstacle.
That was a "present" given to management, on which they further capitalized by convincing our "exhausted, frustrated and sued" NC that this was the final offer.
That falsehood, in combination with fear and shortsighted vision, resulted in this ... mistake.
Did we learn any lessons, on how to approach this differently the next time arround?
For those who will still be here till then.

The NMB was a huge disadvantage to us. Take away all the analytical talk and it really boiled down to whether we wanted to take this or wait...
I think everyone knows that the NMB wasn’t going to let us walk, especially under the Trump administration. The company was selling the 43% raise to the NMB like it was amazing how much they were giving us and we were the a-holes for not being grateful.
But yes everyone can stomp their feet and talk about the pilot shortage and how much leverage we had but the reality is what it was. We had a NMB that was against us, we had a TRO, and a company that played us.
Out of principal should we have voted it down and waited? Probably, but financially it would have been a stupid decision.

I’m voting for the American worker not the dems. If times were really bad then yes I would be voting differently.

The democrats kept promising Tariffs to protect our union workers but never did it. Trump actually got Tariffs to protect our own workers. Economy is up, pay is up and more and more jobs here in the USA. Record low unemployment.

We got very little else out of the deal, and most of it industry lagging. And the reason? Because 43% "Can we have profit sharing?" "43 PERCENT!!!!" "Can we have industry standard 4 year duration?" "43 PERCENT!!!"
Well played Spirit... well played.

The Mediator wore that 43% raise like a pair of horse blinders. Blinders sold and attached by the company, of course.

What a BS statement and yes, I'm calling you out on it. If you are so Democrats=labor friendly and Republicans=anti-labor, then explain how a DEMOCRAT PRESIDENT willfully sends American Airline pilots back to work with a stroke of his pen? Key word, "willfully" whereas he could have let market forces dictate when bargaining would resume. AND......it wasn't even the NMB-so keep that in mind.
