Anyone who posts a thread in the Southwest section asking “envoy or Spirit” as the best path to SWA, must have “SWA” written across his forehead.

Best of luck to you. I personally don’t want to share a flight deck with someone who thinks this place is on par with any regional; I don’t want that mindset at this place.

And it’s insukting to those of us who are making a career out of this place while you view it as a stepping stone. I’d rather not waste a class spot on someone like you.

9 months under new contract and 3 under old, and signing bonus; I’ll make $300k this year. Next year without the signing bonus I’ll make over $250k easily. This ain’t a regional, brother.

You don’t have a minute of jet or 121 time to your resume. You are not a preferred hire or even likely to get an interview.

Sorry if my position is direct; but wasting people’s time asking how much you will make first year while trying to “bail”, waste of time

Thanks for feedback

It’s silly to take offense to an up and coming pilot to see Spirit and use Spirit as a stepping stone. Yeah I love meeting new guys that want to retire from Spirit, but come on...
There is tremendous opportunity across the industry. Guys would be foolish to not keep their eyes and ears open.

You forget about the paroled mass murders. They can’t get hired by the majors, so they are a ‘safe’ hire.

But they are few and far between. So Spirit has to hire qualified pilots that may jump to the majors.

Anybody's guess now. We are just beginning to staff MCO and it's unknown how the back fill will go.

There are many jets coming between now and the end of Q1, so I wouldn't imagine long.

This is the key..base reductions as we increase DFW. Bases like DFW might be getting smaller before they start to grow again. And DFW growth has been slower than the other bases over the last 5 years.

Any pilot looking to get hired on now, needs to realize DFW might take a while to hold as we grow MCO, and sort through the guys hired on before who are waiting to go as well.

Any guess on how many DFW FO’s currently would want to move to MCO? (ie, they commute from Central Florida/ South east region)

Well I remember back when guys were waiting 2 years or so to hold FLL CA and would end up upgrading into DFW while waiting for FLL. During that time some would decide “DFW isn’t that bad,” and moved to DFW and gave up on FLL.

So I’m curious there may be guys going the other way; waiting for DFW at another base, like MCO, and saying “heck, I’ll just move to MCO”.

MCO might be a big hit for this airline. Orlando will always be a place of tourism and needed cheap airfare. Dare I say, “Huuuuge”

How would anyone possibly know that?
