The OBAP job fair was around 8/15. Nobody has come forward on any of the other forums about any calls that have gone out since after the job fair. I wonder if they are trying to get through a bunch of applicants and interviews that came through post contract but prior to the job fair? I had always been told that attending a "meet the chiefs" event was major bonus points towards getting a call, and not a single person that attended OBAP has come forward about one yet.

I asked this question on another thread that I created, but it was hijacked by everyone talking about training difficulty...If I have been passed up at this point, what should I do to become more competitive:
Part 135 PIC or Part 121 SIC? I'm currently PIC in a Challenger, Part 91 and not adding to the logbook very fast.
3370 TT
1780 TPIC
3 Types
Degree is in progress and will be done by May 19
If I have realistic goals in the airlines, I'm going to have to make a change in the near future. Thoughts?

Honestly nothing glares out as not competitive to me. We hire plenty of no degree, no 135, no 121. Only thing I'm not sure about is all 3 boxes unchecked. Many newer hires I fly with were regional FOs for up to a couple years and some don't have degrees. We have hired quite a few 91k people in the last year (though they also fly 135). Your decision will have to be yours. Nobody can tell you to leave a good corporate job to fly crappy charter or for a regional to which you may have to commute. You could get stuck there. Probably the reason you're not getting the answer you're looking for. There are a lot of (overly?) qualified people with job fairs and recs not getting interviews.

I'll chime in on this as well just as a pure opinion standpoint. Finish that degree, get that TT up to maybe 4k and you will be good to go for sure. At this point I don't think I would bother with the 121 stuff other than going to a major airline. Avoid the regionals at all costs. After that degree is done hit a job fair every once in a while and you will be looking good man!

Feels that way. Thought hiring would really ramp up after summer, but at least on APC it's been crickets.

There might be a small number of people in the hiring pool due to smaller classes through August. Hiring is ramped back up to 40 a month right now. Hang in there, I'd guess they should be getting to you guys soon
