Delta wants to be the launch order to the 797 - if Boeing can get its act together. Can’t imagine the incremental benefit a 737-8/9/10 MAX could offer over the A321 NEO would be so huuuuuge. The MAX, like all 737s, is uncomfortable for both pax and pilots relative to the Airbus. Just ask any SWA pilot how his back/azzz feels after 5 years of flying the 737 NG/MAX. It ain’t good.

Don’t confuse the fact that an airplane was built so simple “even a caveman can fly it” with developing flying skills on non technical aircraft.
Just because the Airbus was designed to be flown by 250 hr pilots does not mean there isn’t a benefit of having pilots with strong foundations in flying real airplanes.
Cars on the road today are designed with blind spot sensors, stopping sensors, rear view cameras etc.....so does that mean you’re better off with an 18 year old who only has learned to and relied on these cars, or someone who has 30 years of driving experience who still checks their blind spot because they learned at a time where there wasn’t a blind spot alert?

Which is to say I agree with you completely.

You sir are correct! Spirit is finalizing a deal with Delta to acquire 100 321 NEO aircraft with options for an additional 100. Delta placed this order in 2017 and deliveries start January 2020. Delta is currently working on a deal with Boeing to acquire a large number of MAX jets (quantity and airframe are still unknown) in an attempt to grow and gain control of KSEA while helping Americas largest aircraft manufacturer get back on their feet. There has been great efforts on all parties involved to get this deal done in a timely manner but due to the complexity of a transaction of this magnitude it is taking longer than anticipated. Please be patient
So the airline that puts the freeze on anybody growing in ATL, that also allegedly stopped SW from building a terminal on the south cargo ramp, is going to do a 100 plus aircraft deal with NK? OK.
