You sir are correct! Spirit is finalizing a deal with Delta to acquire 100 321 NEO aircraft with options for an additional 100. Delta placed this order in 2017 and deliveries start January 2020. Delta is currently working on a deal with Boeing to acquire a large number of MAX jets (quantity and airframe are still unknown) in an attempt to grow and gain control of KSEA while helping Americas largest aircraft manufacturer get back on their feet. There has been great efforts on all parties involved to get this deal done in a timely manner but due to the complexity of a transaction of this magnitude it is taking longer than anticipated. Word at DL (along with the delay of the 321NEO) is that we’ll be exercising an additional 100 options. So, literally the opposite of your wishful post.
