It pains me to say you might be right, although I would rather not see that come to fruition. MCO might be a good base, but living in Orlando gets old fast. That place is landlocked, doesn't really have its own culture aside from Disney and theme park BS, and has the worst traffic in the state of Florida.

You should head east. The cocoa beach, Merritt island, Melbourne areas have beaches/character and it’s still somewhat affordable.

All true. I know from experience. I don’t know many of our pilots that live in Orlando. Most are an hour or two away. If you can get from home to the airport mostly on the toll ways then traffic usually isn’t a problem. Surface roads or I4 and just put a bulletin in your head

Yeah, cocoa is pretty trashy.
It reminds me of carnival workers.

having lived in both orlando and miami, the cfla traffic is a cakewalk compared to sfla traffic. not even close. I live east orlando, 25min to mco, 35min to beach, 35 min to disney/universal/seaworld. plenty of outdoor options within 30 min. space center, cruise port...

That’s basically all of Florida. It’s all trash in my opinion but if you want less of a cookie cutter suburban wasteland that is Orlando then I stand by my statement.
