With the new contract. 11% initially stepping up 1% a year to 15%

I think you missed my point. It won’t be 15% DC for another 3 years.

I have not applied yet. Just thinking about potential options. F9 is a consideration but it's hard to get unbiased direction as far as NK vs F9. I'll probably apply to both and see who bites.

F9 is the obvious choice if we are staying in CO I guess...unless there is a compelling reason to commute for Spirit. I'm open minded at this point.

I made more money my second year here than as a third year Captain on a 747. That was under the old contract.

I flew a while back with a guy who spent nearly 30 years at ASA before jumping ship. He surpassed his final W2 by a hefty margin on his second year here.

Chances are you’ll come out ahead.

Wow. If that is any indication...

Don’t overthink it.....just apply to both and see who offers. If you get offers from both then you can weigh the pros/cons. If you don’t than that’s an easy answer.

Edit- I live in base. As a commuter, ones mileage may vary.

That being said, the ASA guy I was flying with was a commuter and he was smoking his nearly 30 year pay by the end of his second year here.

I’d say united and SWA would be the obvious choice if you’re in CO. Delta if you live in western CO

I haven't logged enough intergalactic time machine landings to be considered by any of those carriers.

Are you assuming? Have you applied? And what makes you think spirit is any different?

Hiring at all airlines these days is all over the board. If you think you’re good enough for Spirit you’re good enough for the other carriers. If you think you’re good enough for spirit but not the others then we don’t want you. Sounds harsh but no one wants to be second fiddle or have a bunch of guys that think this place is good enough or not worth United pay because they don’t think they could’ve gotten hired at United.
