Better quality of life to commute sooner to a line ( have no idea of time to line in jr bases ie fll or dtw) or commute to a closer domicile (las) and have a much longer reserve timeline? Also, any further word on uniform changes and or when they will be discussed? Only want to buy the minimum if we are going to black at some point this year. Thx

I finished OE in November. Build up line for December. Reserve for January. Line in February. MCO based.

We will be switching to black at some point this year.

if you are on property when we change they will buy you a full uniform set including 8 shirts. buy the min to get by cuz there is no time table for the change and no one on this or any chat has any inside info

There could be any number of reasons the company would decide to further delay, or decide against new uniforms altogether.

I wouldn’t go washing one shirt and pair of pants every night in anticipation of a switch.

Buy what you think you need for normal ops, and maybe hold off on the blazer if you are a true believer.

Speaking of bases, what’s the likelihood ACY will remain a base for the foreseeable future? Thanks

So?

(KAUS is served by pretty much every airline in the US, I don't think any have a base there.)

It is completely dumbfoundingly idiotic ANY crews EVER overnight in ACY. I’m sorry. This base is so small with so few crews, it should take almost no effort to build schedules that don’t require outside crews.

I completely get doing a turn and getting stuck/Mx etc, but how we have schedule overnights (for guys in other bases) is simple incredible to me.

Every airline has crews from other bases overnighting in other bases. The pairing optimizer knows all. Cover the schedule at the lowest cost possible.

I understand this. These bases are also much larger, therefore, making far more sense. I’ve been based in bigger huh bases, at other airlines, that never overnighted outside crews.

Again, they seem to care about saving money here. Eliminating outside crew overnights, at a ridiculously/insanely small domicile, that could easily be covered by all ACY based guys, would be a start.

The moral of the story (for everyone that asks) is ACY can close and be served, by outside crews overnighting, with ZERO issues. Who knows if/what BWI would do to ACY. For whatever reason powers at be seem to love it so I would not be shocked at all if it never closes.
