New Hire Bases

How senior is DTW or ORD to get as a base as a new hire?

Slowhawk 12-27-2019 08:56 PM

as of the last vacancy, DTW and ORD within 4 months of DOH

DTW is going to newhires straight out of training. ORD might take a few months.

According to the January 2020 bid pack, the most jr pilot in DFW is an Aug ‘19 hire.

Last bid, closes day after tomorrow, includes December newhires:
ACY/FLL/DTW while in class
ORD/LAS/MCO 1 month
DFW 2 months

64 newhires planned for January, I would be surprised if they cannot hold every base of the bat.

I’m getting over the regional captain thing really fast, due to timing I would love to be at spirit around June 18th of this year and in LAS asap.

Any sort of ideas to what the seniority forecast would be there? I’m curious if people suspect it stammering or moving.

I commute from RNO and there’s no way in heck I’m gonna keep commuting across the country (for more than a few months) if I can avoid it, again.

Currently as an FO you’ll usually be able to hold any base in the system within a few months.

NK is committed 100% to LAS. It’s fairly senior because the west coast coast commuters and the fact that we’ve been growing MCO. The company has been talking about expanding LAS, I think it’s a fairly safe bet that it will happen. When? Don’t know. Will it grow it before or after we open BWI? Though call....

My two cents: consider commuting to reserve in LAS for a year and figure out how you feel about that. If you’re ok with it, then you’ll be happy. If you’re going to be stressing out about holding a line and getting out of reserve quickly, it might take a toll on you.

I'm still doing OE this month as a new hire. People in my class have gotten every single base except DFW. Theres 4 of us that got LAS and I think 1 to ORD and a bunch MCO/FLL/DTW. Next month I'll hit the line with a build up as a LAS based pilot. Guys in the last 2 classes behind me have already got LAS too and they're still in sims.
