Random question for you guys from someone at a regional….

If I list on Spirit travel team (or whatever it is) for the jumpseat and get assigned a seat, can I bring a carry on for no charge? Or do I still have to pay for it even though I’m a crew member on another airline?

Wasn’t sure where to ask this and didn’t want to start a thread for such a random question.

Yeah. Your taxes will drop 10% if you actually move to LAS and just jumpseat back to SoCal for the occasional trip to Disneyland. Economically, you will be immensely better off - besides being able to sit reserve in your own living room. Other than that, what did you want to know? You’ll probably hold LAS before you are done with IOE.

I’m massive proponent of living in base for all things airline pilot. However, let’s not pretend Vegas even holds a candle to most places in California. There is a reason so many people live there and pay all those ridiculous taxes. It’s an amazing state and it’s not because of Disneyland.

Disantis World has many perks but I would never fault anyone for wanting to stay in California. Because well, it’s California.

But yeah don’t commute.

To the question- be humble and smile. Have stories that make sense and show you’re a leader but can also be led.

undoubtedly, but circumstances won’t allow me to move at moment, and if I did I’d much sooner opt for TX or FL….in any case, what’s reserve life (or death) like in LAS, and how much (if any) and what kind of flying would there be? Thanks….

….honestly there’s less and less candle-holding of its own that California can do sadly enough, but yes commuting is not remotely my favorite thing, although I used to commute out to Midwest so LAS is decidedly better and less outrage-inducing ….from what I understand of the trips there I might largely be flying as a creature of the night, so just wanted to verify whether that will be my lot for a while…..
