Nothing official has come out from management. Rumors are from check airmen saying they received an email that starting April hiring will be reduced to 8 per week instead of the original planned 16 per week. That’s all I’ve heard. Nothing about hiring stopping in June. I heard it directly from a check airman and feel like he would have mentioned hiring stopping in June. Who knows though.

100% factual quoted from the email.

Your view and vantage on what is about to happen in the industry is askew. Prepare! It is happening much to all of our dismay.

Default Spirit App is nowhere to be found

Hey guys,

Last week I submitted my application to Spirit, took the Gallup Assessment, and the application said it was under review. This morning my application is nowhere to be found and it states that I have not submitted my profile to any jobs. Also the First Officer Job Ad is gone as well. Has Spirit stopped taking in applications?

Thank you

Dude there is credible talk of national airspace shutdown. All major airlines will most likely furlough and there will be no hiring for a long time.

When we finally think we’re getting a break in the industry...another kick in the nuts to bring things back to reality 🥴

That would be correct. Got a call from HR, she said exactly that. I think they are concerned people wont show up for class.

  • Our April schedule has been adjusted, with flights reduced.
  • Pilot new hire classes will still be held in April but will be smaller than originally planned. All further classes are cancelled.
  • Furloughs are not currently planned, but a reduction may be necessary depending on how the situation develops in the coming days and weeks.
