Are you upset that people can pick up open time or get premium trips? Or are you mad that someone senior makes more than you?

I don't think we have or need a "who's poorest" priority list for X/Y and DOT.

Entitled Snowflake/millennial/Antifa sympathizers are getting angry about how seniority works. Dammit,
I need everything now generation.

Well, I'm not sure why you posted about the average of pilots hired today (several pilots were hired 25 years ago), but using the seniority calculator on the SPA ALPA website will give you an idea. I'm not going to publicly post that number but anyone who works here can look it up.

Please don’t paint all that pick up extra trips with the broad paint brush of being greedy or financially ignorant. There’s a lot of us who have been through the ringer in this business while raising a family that are just trying to make a little more for our impending retirement that didn’t enjoy much time in the left seat.

Agree wholeheartedly. Average Spirit pilot hired Is in their 30’s. That gives you 30+\- years of earnings and someday you will have that 5000sf home and $386k boat too if you choose.

No offense but that is none of your business, and I am quite puzzled as to why you think it should be your business. As long as someone isn't using a bot or otherwise circumventing the CBA, who the hell cares? Some people bust their cajones over the summer so that they can take the whole month off come October, as an example. Some people are accustomed to being screwed over in this career so they get as much as they can. It's not your place to try and figure all of that out.

Amazing how every rational discussion that ever starts in this APC forum rapidly devolves into some stupid “our generation vs theirs” or “left vs right” cesspool. Keep that cr*p on Facebook.

I want to hear what people think about staffing levels in the next 12-18 months. Most who click this forum will want to hear the same...

As if anyone on here has a clue to that. 😂😂

Back on thread topic lol....what’s the consensus on Spirit keeping all their folks in the pool until hiring starts back? Or do you think they will dump the pool and start over once things return to “normal”?

I think the new normal will be people simply adjusting to a background of coronavirus just like they have to influenza, Zika, and HIV. SWA is planning on lead turning the comeback in the hope of coming out of it with increased domestic market share. I think ultimately F9 and NK will do the same. AA appears to be following a similar strategy - if only out of desperation - while Delta and United are planning to “shrink to profitability.”

My money is on SWA because they for sure have the deep pockets to pull it off. AA seems to be too deeply mired in debt to compete against SWA. In fact unless international flying rebounds promptly they may be screwed. NK could probably play the same game as SWA, but not for as long. F9? Who knows...
