I agree about AA, but I wouldn't say BNA is any more central than DFW. Texas is about as central is it gets when connecting coast to coast bases. I think this is just another classic case of pilots trying to conjure up any kind of personal theory that might make sense for why the company should put a domicile in XYZ location because it benefits them personally. At the end of the day they won't do it unless there is some huge cost advantage to doing so, which is greatly welcomed.

Hell I wish we had a domicile in AUS, and I won't even BS you trying to hamster up some weird argument for it. My reasons are purely selfish because my family lives there.

Move what base, DFW? Close DFW and open IAH because DFW has AA and that IAH is further south? Have you heard of United in IAH? They are kind of like the AA of Dallas, but in Houston.

Something tells me the fact BNA is an OCC location, youre getting your Tennessee hopes up high trying to justify it as the "central base," and to justify that, DFW needs to go even further south, to be the south base...sound about right?

It will be curious how many employees that man the OCC do not make the move from south Florida. I’d bet Spirit will not pay for their move or pay very little. We may get a whole new group of dispatchers when this thing gets up and running.

I was thinking they’d be the only group that would move. Everyone else that isn’t in a management roll probably won’t.

BNA president said in a tweet that the salary range for Spirit OCC jobs will be 60-70k/yr.
Besides dispatchers there are load planners and meteorologists in a typical OCC, then support staff.
Not sure how many Florida OCC employees would pick up and move for a 60k job.
