Arguing with each other whether or not something is going to happen one way or another is stupid. Just be prepared for either.

The virus shut down your airline, not the government. Or should the big 3 be allowed to fly sick people between continents? After the disgusting anti-competitive behavior displayed by the big 3 over the last 10 years they can choke on it. That being said, I hope all employees are spared the worst of what’s to come.

Nope pretty sure it was the US government that shut them down. The flights weren't too bad loads wise and LHR was overbooked.

I don’t follow the attempted logic of rooting for the big 3 to fail but in the same breath hope the employees are spared. Neither can exist without the other.

Honestly I’m certainly not rooting for any airline to fail. In fact, their mostly awesome contracts are the only hope the LCCs and ULCCs pilots have. BUT, the government bailouts and handouts should be distributed evenly based on airline size.

As far as the government closing down the Europe and Pacific routes, you’re entitled to your opinion as to what was going to happen. The loads likely would have gone to almost zero or been sold at such a steep discount it wouldn’t make sense to fly the route. Just look at the domestic market. Everyone is going to feel the pain for a long while unfortunately.

Well said! Not everyone is rooting for people to be out on their arse. If you've ever been there, you'd know how tough it is and wish it on none.

Best of luck to all!

If there’s a bailout, no way the government should be able to pick and choose. Create a formula based on size or something on how they disperse the money.
