understandable as it’s been changing so much... cancelling everything than reinstating 56 revenue flights per day plus Nonrev movement for crew and team... will bassicly dunk those back into open time pot

The main purpose of the VIL bid is to help from furloughing guys. Now i see it going to senior commuters since we all are going to be on rsv come may. Giving up 22hrs to not worry about cancelled flights or buying hotels. I think a base like Las needs more vil because that is a commuter base

Agreed...........

You sure? It's really not that much in savings. 500 CA 500 FO at 22 hours is about a day or two of expense savings a month.

It buys days only even if all VIL lines are taken. Better to take the VIL line if you just want to sit this out for any number of reasons than to think it will do much for minimizing furlough.

Hopefully another email is enroute better explaining our strategy and what can be done to help the company survive so that we can make informed decisions about reduced hour lines, LOA and whatnot.

it’s the equivalent of furloughing about 300 or more guys in savings.

I’d say that’s not nothing

they also had already announced the May draw down so there are no surprises there.

Also if things are somewhat open in your region by that time it would be a great month to not be beholden to the company even on rsv in base.

Mostly beautiful weather nation wide. Instead of kicking rocks at home not getting called on rsv in May, but not able to leave you could be on a camping trip of road trip seeing national parks for a month. Sounds awesome.

yeah I’m torn because I have Vacation in May. Seems like a waste to burn it, might be better off doing the VIL and take the Cub somewhere (clearly not Sun & Fun because it got CoronaCxld
