But like you said, I'll wear it in hopes that people fly more.
more like stopping a shart, not a fart. Also, you might want to read up on the facts. The number of positive test is rising at a faster pace than increased testing. Sure, we could stop all testing and say, that’s better, we are down to zero. Wouldn’t change the fact that we had 71,000 new confirmed cases today. A new record by the way

No, it was sarcasm mocking the people who are so anti-mask that they reject basic science. I don’t know who you flew with but they sound miserable to fly with and should be avoided. If I do my job correctly no one will remember who I am after they fly with me. That’s my goal.

And all the antibody tests that they’re doing, with people who were asymptomatic with the virus and no longer have it, are being labeled as “new cases” is skewing those numbers by a lot.

Masks are imperfect BUT... they are better than nothing.

Multiple studies have shown that the DOSE of Coronavirus that gets you infected is important. The young people who had the worst outcome When they became infected in the initial wave were those who worked in healthcare, nursing home, or longterm care facilities, because the patients in those places were extremely susceptible and became very infectious and the people who worked there were occupationally exposed.

Young people with only incidental community exposure fared - in general - much better. Once infected, a race starts between the replicating virus and your immune system. If you are young the odds are against you getting a serious case in any event, but starting with a lower infecting dose means the immune system has more time to develop defenses against the virus compared to starting with a huge dose. With a small enough dose you won’t get infected at all - but most of us aren’t going to wear am M-17A1 or a filtered air supplied face mask, but if a simple facemask can decrease the infecteds viral fomites by half and the susceptibles facemask can decrease the inhaled virus by another half that is actually still worth doing. It might not stop the infection from occurring, but it will decrease the severity of the infection for the infected group as a whole.

I’d bet the spike has more to do with the protests and the “COVID parties” that teens and college students are having. Not to mention that social distancing here in the US is a joke and for the mask to be effective, you need 90% of the population to participate and it would reduce transmission by about 50%. But if you’d rather listen to the deafening silence from the WH, instead of scientists, be my guest

As far as your last sentence, that has nothing to do with my statement, and is just an attempt to be condescending. There’s no denying that antibody tests are skewing new case numbers and there are plenty of reputable publications on it.

They probably start every sentence with “back on the 9”.

Yes, But I won't say anything more. It was a total dewshe move of me to even post what I did, but I really did believe that sv1984 was that guy when I read his post. I debated even typing out what I did, but ultimately erred on the side of internet dewshery.

It was early in the pandemic and I truly hope that he changed his mind over time.
