No furlough talk diverted to fiscal policy talk.... Worthy of one of my Miata derails..... And on that note, a Miata is NOT a sports car...

CRX was the AMC Pacer of Japanese sporting cars.

I’ve got a 2005 metallic Orange Acura RSX Type S. You could only get the orange in the S model and I’ve only seen one other one before.

It is the only car I ever bought brand new. Picked it up with 000006 miles on her. She now has 291,423. Engine, transmission (outside of replacing the clutch at 150k) is flawless.

I just put coilovers on it and that lowered it by 1.5 inches. Looks and rides great. Some of the original suspension components like ball joints and what not need to be replaced and I’ll do that soon.

Its got some dings along the way and after 15 years some parts of the paint are fading. I’ll get it repainted this coming spring/summer.

It is a really fun car to drive. 2.0L 4 cylinder
V-Tech, 6 speed manual. Red lines near 9,000 and the power band is above 5,000 which is when the V-Tech starts working. Terrific engine tone.

Great car. I’ll never get rid of it!

Type R badge worth 20hp, extra 5hp for every inch larger diameter exhaust can.

You must have missed the Miata thread drift. Anything to get us away from listening to retarded political BS.

Ugh.....sounds divine with that 9K red line. High revving momentum cars are damn fun to drive.

The hell it wasn’t. I had an early 90s CRX SI (16 valve) and that thing was a damn hoot. Total go kart. Don’t tell the recruiters when I finally land that Delta interview, but I outran a state trooper on the twisty backroads and was up to 130 at one point. Don’t tell me it’s not a sports car!

As gawdawful ugly as the new Supra is, it'll run rings around its BMW counterpart.
The next Nissan Z was revealed today: https://www.hagerty.com/media/news/r...wsletter_NewDD

Nice looking Z. If its as small as the last version I'll never buy it. I'm 6'3" and 195 and I can't squeeze into it or my dream car the Miata.

I like it from the side and the back but I feel like they got the front just wrong. Grill is too big for such a little car and the headlights are too small/boring. Though I will be interested to see what the Nismo looks like. 400hp in a little RWD, manual sports car will be fun.

That would be a good race! Supra vs. Z4 M40i....

Eh, it looks more like a facelift of an 11 year old design than something completely new.

It’s the same from the 350 to the 370 though. And that isn’t a bad thing at all.

I mean, Corvette did it successfully from 1984-2019, and then there's the Porsche 911 which has perfected the art. But yeah, I feel the same about this Z. Way too safe of a design. I too cannot stand the way-too-rectangular front grill, but I do like the overall design, despite what I just said about it being too safe.

Not that I don't love cars but a little bit of thread drift eh?

No doubt but look at the bright side, this is a No Furlough thread and it’s great we can talk about cars instead of a turd sandwich agreement that breaks our 72 hour guarantee into 3 separate groups, depending on seniority, in order to prevent furloughs for maybe only until spring...
