another good question, how many participation trophies were* you given as a kid to grow up to be such a delicate little flower? Honestly, if you need attention this bad….. go buy a dog.

It's also literally management's job to prepare for these things. I would ask what are they doing. If anyone knows great. If not then it's much as anyone else. A guessing game. Heh wasnt at gojets but I was never hiding from the public at the regionals either.
As a fellow new guy, please allow me to say “STFU and stop whining”. If this place isn’t to your satisfaction, then leave. Do I want IT to improve? Staffing to improve? Of course. Am I going to drone on for pages and pages prattling on like a scared schoolgirl? No.

Man up, sack up, and move on if you think it’s doomsday. Or stay and chill out. Either way, you’re boring and drama filled. Bad combo.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if they canned you for a social media violation, since I’m sure you’re still on probation and all...

That might make a good TMAAT story at your next carrier.

You’re going to have a very stressful career in aviation.

There are all sorts of idiot hackers out there. Unusual weather happens. You got stuck in a basement in San Juan? Wow, was anyone dropping mortar shells on you? Or were you getting harassment fire?

Ever gone to work in a chemical warfare defense ensemble? Just for practice because, you know, you might really need it someday?

Geez man, man up a little. You are embarrassing yourself.

The difference is, the real airlines have the ability to recover from these events quickly and efficiently. With code shares, interline agreements, spare aircraft and available capacity increases, it is possible to recover and to get all of the passengers where they need to go. Spirit can't do that. You just cancel the flights and strand the passengers for weeks at a time, and force them to buy tickets on other carriers. That isn't a "recovery", it is just continuing the same crappy service that you provided before.

The ‘real airlines’ have been monopolizing the commons for decades with hub and spoke systems and their fortress hubs. And those who would want to fairly compete and give the public a choice at a reasonable price have been largely frozen out by political maneuvering and back door deals. Like in Newark where Southwest GAVE UP their slots, but ‘real airlines’ fought against ULCCs getting them.

https://www.reuters.com/business/aer...er-2021-09-16/

So yeah, it’s going to take a few more years - maybe even a few more decades - for ULCCs to work up to the sort of flight frequencies that can make that easy a rescheduling happen. But don’t worry, the ULCCs are getting there, just like happened in Europe.

First of all, I don't think anyone wants a system like they have in Europe. The system is designed to keep pilot wages low through fake competition and government backed airlines. If you want your pay cut 25%, then keep rooting for the LCC system like they have in Europe.

In reality, the death blow to the LCC's will be the pilot shortage. It really hasnt even hit yet, and the LCC's are already struggling. It is just amazing who is getting hired at Spirit right now. It shows you the desperation.

A guy that got fired from a previous regional for having too many training failures just got hired. 2 failures before getting to the airlines (Commercial and CFI). Then failed initial airline training on his first attempt, and then failed his first recurrent training. Then double busted upgrade and was terminated as a result. Now, instead of a ERJ, he will be flying an Airbus for Spirit. No college degree and 6 checkride failures. That's the current hiring requirements at Spirit.

What is going to happen when all of the "Big Boys" are hiring at full capacity?

Well I hate to rain on your parade but UA is doing the same. Just talked with an individual, 6 total failures with 1 being first airline. Hired at UA. Oh boy the desperation!
