Money is a factor, with starting pay and all, but the real deal is the Merger, and all the uncertainty that that brings.
Easy to understand, though. If you live in a United or Delta base, without much seniority at NK, why go through the uncertainty of a merger if you don't want to move? Some of our larger bases will certainly stay, but there are a handful that are definitely up in the air (pun intended).

I would guess you were probably talking about ACY and ATL as the others...
Reading the united forums and seeing that their contract is now delayed until maybe the end of the summer with no clear goals in terms of QOL since ive been here for a few years Im seriously considering turning down the class date. Not the way I wanted to play it but there was supposed to be a bit more clarity all around by now.

I mean I'm in ORD. The general theory is that ORD ( where I live ) would definetly stay put considering its a major hub for delta ( nowadays) united and american and southwest. Kinda hard to say your going to compete with the big 3 or 4 and then pull out of the 3rd largest city where all of those are based. Of course thats just logic in my head.

If I lived in Dallas or Miami, I’d go to AA so I could drive to work instead of commuting at another legacy.
Why AA over a SWA/F9/Spirit/JetBlue? Diversity of narrowbody fleets and widebody flying as well as quicker upgrade opportunities and loads of retirements coming down the pipe.

Southwest upgrades are longer than Spirit, AA and JetBlue. And Frontier's base has what, 40 pilots at the moment? Sure, it'll grow. But how much? (With regards to the DFW base, anyway).

Its been a while since anyone argued about it on here so; what are your thoughts these days on DFW and DTW for the combined company?
