United v. Spirit

Whatever you do don’t hold out for one or the other, go with the first place that offers you a job. No one is forcing you to stay anywhere once you get hired. A lot of people came here to Spirit thinking “I’ll give it a shot and if I get hired somewhere else I’ll have a decision to make.” A lot of those people stopped updating their apps because they liked it so much here, myself included.

Only time I updated my apps was when our 'union' forgave certain sections of the contract in a quid pro quo. Still waiting on my quid, but after that fiasco of a meltdown and a complete **** of an MEC chairman, I am now many years later and C2018 in place, content.

I also agree with this. Never limit your options but after I got hired here, the options didn’t seem to matter anymore and I also stopped updating at some point very quickly. It’s been years now and I never look back. Hopefully C2023 will allow for enough room to get close to A320 pay at UA. Hahaha... who am I kidding.
better not sacrifice any QOL to get there.

Well that would mean at least 30 grand a month and to a good portion of Spirit pilots, that’s really important.

United v. Spirit
Everyone always says this. United or any other major airline’s pilots aren’t working 20 days a month unless they chose to and everyone I know at United says they have decent schedule flexibility. Maybe not as good as ours but it isn’t exactly sweat shop conditions working over there…
