Ah, hadn't seen that. Still absolutely unreal.

What's unreal is the amount of time that guys going to be on reserve in the Northeast, as he watches every single senior pilot eventuaeventually upgrade.

And if he’s a local sitting reserve at home, so what?

What's a long time? Maybe 3 years? Maybe 5? I've been here 4+, am a captain and will be on reserve for at the absolute least the next 1.5 years at this 10/mo rate.

Would I rather be a captain for all 5 years ? You bet your a$$ I would but didn't have that option here.

A class of 24 just started. Problem is I heard only 18 showed.

Obviously 10/mo isn't sustainable to grow an airline. Especially with 50+ planes on schedule for delivery over the next two years. Yeah, 319's to the bone yard, but still. My concern is it's gonna take a couple of years to get the pipeline flowing again and, absent a change in the contract (not likely in the next 2 years) how many pilots are we gonna loose to the big 7 (Alaska - not so much, AA, Delta, United, UPS, FedEx)? The last email from the SPA MEC is spot on, and offers no real encouragement for junior people to stick around and find out when they have multiple opportunities that are usually going to be better than what they have at Spirit.

Add in the increasing amount of meltdowns,
worse schedules, and big displacements and captains will bail too.

Every new hire I’ve signed off in the last two months are gone, except one. Many many more to follow
