E3 Visa

Has Spirit also been hiring or is hiring Australian pilots on the E3. I ask because Frontier is hiring them on the E3 visa and wondering what Spirits policies are regarding foreign pilots.

I believe we just made an announcement last week that we would start hiring them. I admit I may be mixing up articles I read, still just getting started on the coffee this morning.

Merger

I wonder what the hiring practices will allow once the merger takes place? In all honesty the E3 numbers are negligible anyway.

Would love to be a fly on the wall at sun and fun with pilots recruiting.

It depends which merger. If frontier then probably nothing. If JetBLue unless they have it then it will probably never happen. Spirit would be rolled into JetBlue.

211 gross new hires this year, 67 net. I don't think this is sustainable.

Lets face it, NK first year pay doesn’t exactly engender company or pilot group loyalty in new hires. Training pay, no insurance, then first year pay less than many regionals isn’t a big retention plus. Even F9 has upped their game. And if the B6 merger is going to go through, why not start there instead?

wait. You have an issue with first year pay? First I’ve heard of it. Why haven’t you posted about it sooner?

Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.

I’ll try to mention it more often in the future.
