living In base, this news seems like a dream come true. Living in base here is already a dream come true. The quality of life is insane. Even when I barely had the seniority to hold a line, I just drop it all to zero and fly 200% trips and maybe a couple high-credit day trips, which I’ll also drop if the 200% pours in. Home in my own bed 28+ days a month crediting well over 100, routinely.

For some people, like those who live in spirit bases (particularly the FL bases), this is the best airline on the planet to be at, and this email only sweetens that deal. Not to mention the staffing this summer will have the X-list phone calls going nonstop.

Just trying to shed a little positive light, I’m aware that doing so is illegal on APC. We have such a pleasant/happy pilot group sometimes I wonder if it’s a different group of people on these forums :D

Unless you like 20mins from the airport this new trip mix will suck.

If there's any certainty in airline pilot life, it's that everyone will always disagree on the best trip mix.

If you live in base you hate 4 days, and want 1-3 day trips depending how far you live from the base. If you commute, 1-2 day trips suck and aren't worth commuting in for, but also 3 days suck because you don't get enough days off. 4 days are desirable but only if they're commutable.

And the wheel goes round and round.

I live 25 minutes from the parking lot and have zero interest in driving in city traffic every day. This could very well suck supposing I don’t get to commute to some other base and spend money on hotels or crash pads due to downsizing. Yay.

you guys on here are funny. Spirit is not about to become the new Allegiant...read the email again. 70% turns out of a base OR another Spirit Station. Sure the 1-2 day trips are going up but not like what y’all are saying on here.
