Is there an echo in here? Check company email

I am curious as to what the benefit would be to running MIA as a separate domicile instead of co with FLL…. Anyone have insight?

I think they’ll do co domicile.

Although the CBA is vague on co-domicile language, one potential benefit would be saving money on either employee parking or ground transportation. It would be expensive to pay for parking at both airports for everyone in a co-domicile situation. The only other benefit is having reserves with the callout time based on reporting to MIA, which doesn't seem like it would do much.

Honestly for me that’s a bonus but I know if you commute turns are terrible (been there done that). Also why are we opening bases that frontier already has? Why add overlap before we try and get approved for the merger? This makes no sense to me.

We won’t be on one list for several years. They probably need a domicile yesterday. It’s not really adding more flying (overlap) than we already had planned. Just positioning crews where they want them.

The email from JM specifically says co-domicile in MIA

I also think some bases may shrink. Not only trying to staff the new bases but I think some bases have less departures than some focus cities.

How do you figure day trips pay less?

Very very few multi day trips are rigged for TAFB and that’s the only way they could pay less than a day trip.

Check your email. 70% turns. It doesn’t mean all of them will be day trips but I would expect a significant increase in day trips and a decrease in overall trip mix.

I think trip mix will stay just as lopsided as it is now only the bother direction. Right now it’s all 4 days with a handful of turns and two days for the very top of the seniority list. Now it will be turns and two days with a handful of 4 days for the commuters. Just as bad of a mix only the other way.

I love turns and two days especially but this will lead to more bases. More bases means less flexibility. A few massive bases are best for flexibility for all unless you commute from a city that will be a new base then it’s great for those people

4 day trips have been trending way for block vs TAFB over the last year, no doubt. As we grow, we will fly more legs a day so block will be the predominant pay, not TAFB

Just look at the schedules now and see how many more 3-5 leg days there were than before. And that will then result in more short overnights. Even with the 18 hour trigger this contract, I’ve noticed my short stay overnights exceeding long stay. Basically they are working us more and will continue as we add dots.

Hopefully at least the day trips will pay higher credit with increased utilization. But I’m expecting 3-4 leg days with that. LAS guys will get punished with that west coast hop crap.
