This sucks, but as long as they get a couple out before the vacancy closes, it will be fine.

I have a feeling that you are about to be severely disappointed

I’m starting to get the feeling the bid is about to get delayed.

The delay could totally be the pilot's fault. Probably had too many other apps on their ipad, or switched from portrait to landscape mode too many times while submitting their bids. /s

The best part about all this is, we have pilots supporting this move by the company. Just the other day one of our pilots was cheerleading for the company in chat! Cmon people, you know the clowns in charge are throwing darts into the air and missing…

10/1 odds the company doesn’t like the cost of the number of training events while trying to train new hires, and cancels the vacancy bid for another month. Train 120 pilots a month with all of these displacements and probable voluntary downgrades.
Act from a movie:
Scene 1: While in conference room, management around table.
David Tait to management after running "what if" for few consecutive times: "Gentleman, I want you to come and have a look at this!" (music from a scene in a disaster movie)

Scene 2: Camera pans to management who hesitantly gets up from chairs . . .
Clueless Management: "What is happening! How can this be?"

Scene 3: David Tait removes glasses, stares at the screen . . . "we are so f*&&^**)&. Maybe we should tell the pilots Flica is acting up so we can figure this thing out"

Better get in before the odds change. I opened at 10/1 and the line is going to move. Probably 4/1 by end of the day

I don’t know. I see a Samuel Jackson Jurassic Park moment where Tait says “Hold onto your butts” with cigarette dangling from his mouth as he starts the algorithm of the second what if bid where more pilots have submitted their preferences. Seeing the results Ted looks over at Bendo and asks “ I wonder if you might be so kind as to go pull the power from the Flica servers?”.

If they can’t get the what ifs sorted out, they’ll have no choice. I don’t believe anything nefarious is going on, it sounds like classic spirit IT and flica. I know the union is involved, too.
