That is really it. Big 5 - qualified ATPs get the call, lightning fast upgrades guaranteed by the mandatory retirements, highest pay rates & the siren call of WB pay rates. Big 5 are the place to be applying. If applying to the ULCC/regionals - it is absolutely a stepping stone to the Big 5. Even SWA/JB/Alaska are seeing attrition.
Most should be seeng this. If you are not, then enjoy flying for "not Big 5"

I'm not Mike, but let me try. Retirements at Big 5 have led to them calling applicants at a breakneck pace. Also Big 5 upgrades are pretty much instantaneous (less than 2 yrs) so why would anyone go anywhere else? Those that can't get the call today, will get it within the next couple years. Applicants are from the ULCCs and regionals. So if ULCC/regionals can't

Anyway… 6-7-8 year upgrade is the answer I was looking for, thank you all for the non sense and uneducated responses.Wasn’t expecting less from this forum. Love you all.Mike, Keep working on your resume, I’m sure you’ll get the call from Delta as soon as the economy recovers. Happy commutes to NYC.

Within two years? I don’t know if you know but your friend Mike just said we are in an unprecedented huge recession, he heard it on cnbc. Be content if you still have a job 6 months from now.

As someone who has 1300 pilot below him here, it's not just "what's upgrade time"
It's really... What happens after I upgrade. I was senior enough to upgrade in Nov 2021. Guess who still has at LEAST 1.5-2 years of reserve left at this rate of upgrades?
Everyone loves to talk about how the 3 month (yes 3 months) 737 upgrade at Delta will be permareserve.
I'm practically there and I was hired in 2018
Someone hired today will be in a much much worse position.

My point is that's the case for someone like me, who upgraded 6 months ago. So 2-2.5 years. Someone hired after me will experience MUCH longer stagnation.
