Now they get to listen to Bluedriver tell them how awesome it’s gonna be to get stapled below him and how that’s the only logical option but still the best option for them at the same time. Not gonna miss seeing the clown around.

HIGHLY disagree. If anything JetBlue will grow BOTH as much as possible.
JB+NK won't have a fortress hub in FLL, but it will at least smell like one. They will maximize that as much as possible. They will also use their local name recognition to grow MIA as much as possible, if it makes economic sense to do so, which I suspect it will. It would be similar to it's approach in NYC. They are at all times actively seeking more slots/gates at LGA/JFK/EWR. So I disagree with your assessment. 😁 |

Blue, didn't Robyn already say that if approved he would divest some of FLL because of the market share we both already have. That plus DOJ approval shows that we are willing to negotiate to get this passed. It also points to the fact that we would be going after the big 4, he never stated he wants to go up against WN in FLL. So growing MIA with our base already in place makes perfect sense, head to head against AA.
So I disagree with your assessment. 😁 |

You are not entirely wrong, or entirely correct. Robin, because of JB+NK having a large combined FLL market share, agreed to give up 5 gates in FLL to help appease the DOJ. That doesn't mean they will voluntarily shrink any more than that, and they WON'T. At the same time, they will continue to build and expand MIA to the extent it is economically beneficial, which I believe it will be. I think JB+NK will seek to be as large as possible in both FLL/MIA, in exactly the same way that JB seeks to be as large as possible in all 3 NYC airports.
Plus combining the airline and streamlining the schedules probably allows the same number of flights, or more even, while giving up the gates. Synergies baby! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I get that people don't like MIA but it is a such a large market compared to FLL. I mean, that's where all of the people live lol.
Both airlines do a considerable amount of flying into LATAM, and those people are all about some Dade county. To them FLL is just a cheap flight to get in an uber and head south. |
